The AsapSCIENCE YouTube channel was launched on May 28, 2012 by Canadians Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown, having both completed a B.Sc in Biological Science. They aimed to create videos that would inspire and educate people of all ages to take an interest in science. AsapSCIENCE began as a YouTube channel offering scientific explanations through its weekly science-educational animated web series, but has since established itself as a much sought-after brand and production company, securing book deals and a TV deal with the CBC, and producing a series of sports-related videos that aired daily during the Olympics.


AsapSCIENCE entered IDEABOOST cohort 1 as a YouTube channel for people to learn and be entertained by the neatest aspects of science and life. With weekly videos covering biology, chemistry, physics, and more, AsapSCIENCE aimed to transform the educational landscape by bridging the gap between traditional and digital platforms.

With the support of IDEABOOST, AsapSCIENCE hoped to continue to create weekly, internet-based science shows designed to educate and entertain prospective viewers. In addition, they sought to engage and grow their audience and to develop a company and product roadmap to eventually lead to related product and merchandise sales. This included branded clothes, DVD sales, science related products, and corporate partnerships.
