To meet this challenge DEEP is evolving Liquid Cinema™ a suite of sophisticated proprietary players and tools that allows the authoring and distribution of story based cinematic VR content across multiple platforms and devices.

Liquid Cinema is currently being used as a VR distribution platform by major European and US Networks including Dow Jones Corporation, The Wall Street Journal, ZDF and ARTE. Recently Google financed the expansion of the Liquid Cinema platform to include Daydream.

Liquid Cinema is a revolutionary software that allows filmmakers, journalists, advertisers and educators to create and distribute highly sophisticated cinematic VR. It puts easy to use affordable tools in the hands of VR filmmakers, while giving broadcasters/digital content providers an out of the box solution to distribute cinematic VR content via the web, mobile and VR devices.

LIQUID CINEMA is the missing link in the explosive technical developments around the capture, distribution and playback of 360 spherical 3D and non-3D video that is the heart of VR based cinema.

PRESS, AWARDS, & ACHIEVEMENTS:

Liquid Cinema was first implemented by ARTE, Europe’s leading cultural television network (www.arte.tv). Since the launch of the ARTE360 VR platform on Android, iOS, and web in December 2015, and most recently on GearVR (2016), it has seen tremendous success. The iOS and Android apps have become the most popular mobile apps launched by ARTE to date and have been downloaded in 184 countries. A testimony to the success of the platform is also the fact that the ARTE360 VR apps have been repeatedly cited in the media as one of the ‘best VR apps available on the market’ amongst others such as VRSE, JauntVR and Youtube. Since the success of Liquid Cinema with ARTE, we have licensed Liquid Cinema to other broadcasters and news networks including ZDF (Germany’s state broadcast network), BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk), NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk), USC (University of Southern California) and the Wall Street Journal, to name a few. We are currently working on implementing Liquid Cinema on Google’s Daydream platform, a project which has been initiated and financed by Google. We are in talks with over 40 other major brands, studios, and companies who have contacted us via our website, such as Associated Press, Red Bull, NBC Universal, Deutsche Welle, etc. We have received an extremely positive response in the media and press pertinent to our business sector. In addition, we have just been invited by, and are in a partnership with, Samsung, Deutsche Telekom, Fraunhofer Institute, and eight other companies to join an EU initiative to bring next generation 360 content to Smart TVs in Europe.

The narrative innovations built into LIQUID CINEMA build on insights gained through numerous groundbreaking VR productions created by DEEP Inc., such as the Grimme Online awarded Polar Sea 360°, an extensive multi-platform project and the world’s first long-form 360° video documentary (ARTE, TVO).
